2010-2011 COMPANY POLICIES

· Students must attend all rehearsals. Dancers are permitted to have 3 EXCUSED absences prior to Christmas break and 2 EXCUSED absences following Christmas break. A dancer will be excused only when an email is sent to the instructor AND a voice mail message has been left on her CELL PHONE no later than 8:00am on the day of the rehearsal.

· Excessive absences to a dancer’s regular dance classes will result in dismissal from the company.

· Mini Jazz Company members are to be enrolled in a minimum of one day of ballet, one day of jazz, and one optional class (hip hop or tap).

· Junior Jazz Company members are to be enrolled in a minimum of two days of ballet, one day of jazz, and one optional class (hip hop or tap).

· Teen Jazz Company members are to be enrolled in a minimum of two days of ballet, one day of jazz, and one optional class (hip hop, tap, or an additional jazz).

· Senior Jazz Company members are to be enrolled in a minimum of two days of ballet, one day of jazz, and one optional class (hip hop, tap, or an additional jazz)

· Hip Hop Company members are required to be enrolled in Hip Hop

· Students must participate in every competition. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BEGRANTED TO THIS POLICY. Any student who does not fulfill this obligation will not be permitted to compete with The Pointe in subsequent years.

· All company members are required to attend summer classes at The Pointe or some pre-approved summer program.

· All company members are required to attend any master classes offered at The Pointe.

· All students must maintain a positive attitude in both class and company rehearsals.

· All parents must maintain a positive attitude. Gossiping will not be permitted under any circumstances.

· Students and parents must be well prepared for each competition. This includes arriving with appropriate tights, makeup, accessories and supplies for your child.

· Dancers must arrive to each competition at the time specified by your instructor with hair and makeup ready.

· All fees must be paid on time.

· Rehearsals for the company will be posted on the website under “Company Updates.” Parents and dancers are responsible for checking the website weekly for updates or changes to the rehearsal schedule.

· Questions regarding The Company should be first submitted to thepointedancearts@hotmail.com. If a meeting with the instructor is necessary, an appointment should be scheduled.

2010-2011 COMPETITIONS AND DATES

November 6 - 7: Tremaine Dance Convention, Atlanta, GA - We will not be competing at this convention. This is strictly optional.

December 10 - 12: NYCDA Dance Convention & Competition, Nashville, TN - Solos, Juniors, Teens & Seniors will compete at this one

January 22 - 23: CoDance Convention & Competition, Birmingham, AL - Juniors will compete at this one AND possibly the Minis. The convention is optional for all others.

Date TBA: NUVO Dance Convention, Atlanta, GA - strictly optional convention for all

March 4 - 6: Adrenaline Convention, Atlanta, GA - Teens, Seniors & Solos will compete. Convention is optional for all others.

April 2-3: Applause Talent, Birmingham, AL - Minis, Juniors, Teens, Seniors & Solos

April 8-10: Thunderstruck Competition, Birmingham, AL - Minis, Juniors, Teens, Seniors & Solos
